The arrival of the Dajjal
The name of the day when this mortal world will be destroyed is Qiyamat. No one knows the date of Resurrection except Allah. However, some of its premonitions have been described by the Prophet (PBUH). The arrival of Dajjal is one of them.
Fatima bint Qays (RA) said, I heard the announcer of the Messenger (PBUH) announce, 'Go to the mosque for prayer'. So I went to the mosque and prayed with the Prophet (PBUH). At the end of the prayer, he sat on the pulpit and said with a gentle smile, "Every person should sit in his place of prayer. Then he said, Do you know why I have brought you together? The companions said Allah and His Messenger (PBUH) know best. He said, By God! I have not assembled you to give anything or to show any fear. Rather, I have gathered you together to tell you about Tamim Dari.
Tamim Dari was a Christian man. He came to me and accepted Islam. He narrated to me an incident that is similar to what I have narrated to you about the Dajjal. He said that once he went on a voyage in a sea boat with thirty people from the Lakham and Jujam clans. The waves of the sea tossed them to and fro for a long month. Finally, one day, at sunset, he reached an island. Then they entered the interior of the island by means of small boats tied to the hull of the big boat, and there they met an animal whose whole body was covered with large hairs. His face and back could not be seen due to excess fur. Then they pointed at him and said, You are bad luck; who are you? He said, I am a spy or seeker of secret news. Go to the man locked in the room; he is waiting to hear your news. Tamim Dari said that, hearing the words of the man to the said creature, we felt fear in our hearts that he could be the devil. So we hurried there and entered that room. There I saw a man with a huge body, which I had never seen before. He was very tightly bound. His hands were tied together by iron chains to his neck and both joints below his knees. We said to him, Bad luck! Who are you? He said, Surely you will know about me; I will not hide it. But tell me first: who are you? They said, We are Arabs.
We were on a boat at sea. For a long month, the waves of the sea have brought us here and there. Then we entered the island. Then we met an animal covered in thick fur. He said, I am a seeker of secret news. When he asked us to come to this room, we quickly came to you. He said, Well, tell me, do the palm trees in the Baysan area bear fruit? Baysan is the name of a place in the Hejaz. We said, Yes, it comes. He said that in the near future he would not bear any more fruit on the tree. Then he said, Well, tell me, is there water in the bill called Tabaria? We said, Yes, there is a lot of water in it. He said that soon his water would run out. Then he said,Well, tell me, is there water in the spring called Yogar, and do the people there cultivate the land with the water of that spring? We said, Yes, it has a lot of water, and the people there cultivate the land with water. Then he asked, Well, tell me, what is the news of the illiterate prophet? We said he has now migrated from Makkah and is staying in Madinah. He asked, Tell me, did the Arabs fight with him? We said, Yes, it did. He asked, How did he treat them? We said he won over the surrounding Arabs, and they submitted to him. Hearing this, he said, You know! It is good for them to obey him. Well, now I am describing my situation: I am Dajjal. I will be allowed to leave in the near future. I will go out and roam the land, except Makkah and Madinah. I will travel all over the world in forty days. I have been banned from entering these two places.
Whenever I wanted to enter one of them, the angel would bar me with an open sword in his hand. Every entrance to it is guarded by angels. The narrator said that after narrating so far, the Prophet tapped the pulpit with his stick and said three times, This is Madinah, this is Madinah, this is Madinah. Then he said, Tell me, have I not narrated this hadith to you before? People said yes. Then he said, Dajjal is in one of the seas of Syria or one of the seas of Yemen. Later, he said, he would rather arrive in the east. Saying this, he pointed towards the east with his hand (Muslim, Mishkat ha/5248).
Like the above hadith, the following hadith also deals with Dajjal's position on earth
Some of the signs of Qiyamat, including the arrival and stay of Jesus (AS) in the world, are described:
Abdullah Ibn Amr (RA) said, The Messenger (PBUH) said, Dajjal will come out and stay for forty days. Abdullah Ibn Amr (RA) said, I am not aware that the Messenger (PBUH) said forty days or forty months. No, he said forty years. Then Allah will send Jesus Ibn Maryam. He will look like Urwa Ibn Mas'ud. He will seek Dajjal, and he will kill him. Jesus (AS) will stay on earth for 7 years. At that time, there will be such peace among the people. If you do that, there will be no enmity between the two of them. Then Allah will send a cold wind toward Syria. That wind will not leave alive a person on earth who has an atom of goodness or faith in his heart. That is, even if one hides in the mountains, this wind will enter and kill him.
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, Then only the worst immorals and drunkards will remain. They will be swift as birds in fornication and fierce as wild beasts in murder. They will have no ability to distinguish between good and evil. Then Shaytaan will come to them in a form and say, Do you not feel ashamed? Then people will say, Well, you say, what should we do? Then Satan will command them to worship idols. In this condition, they will continue to live happily and comfortably. Then the lion will be blown, and the person who hears the blow will turn his head from side to side in a state of fear.
The Prophet (pbuh) said:
The first person to hear the sound was the one who was repairing the water trough for his camel. Then he will die of fright there, and other people will die along with him. Then Allah will send a very light rain, like mist. In it, all the bodies that were destroyed in the grave will come alive. Then the second time, the singa will be blown. Then all the people will stand up. Then it will be announced, O people! Hurry to your Lord. Angels will be ordered to stop them here, and they will be interrogated. Then it will be said to the angels, "Bring out those people who are fit for hell. Then the angels will say, How many will I take out? It will be said that out of every thousand, nine hundred and twenty-two should be taken to hell. After saying thus far, the Prophet (PBUH) said, This is the day about which the Qur'an says, On that day children will be made old' (Mujammil 17). In other words, the child will also become old in the horror of that day. That day will be very critical' (Muslim, Mishkat Ha/5286)."
The teaching of Hadith
Only the believer believes in the fact that Qiyaamat will take place. And for that, every believer-Muslim should be prepared in the best possible way, and in order to survive its horrors, every believer-Muslim should practice Salah. May Allah grant us Tawfeek. - Ameen
