The virtues of Astaghfirullah!
Let me say at the beginning,
Imam Ahmad bin Hanbal (RA)
He was the master of Imam Bukhari (RA). He memorized 10,000 hadiths. Musnad Ahmad is the title of the hadith book he authored. There, he recorded about 40 thousand hadiths.

The old man was shocked and stood in front of the mosque for a while! He did not want to go to any people's houses at night and cause them trouble. That's why he wanted to spend the night at the mosque. Nafal Salat and a bit of sleep could be spent at night.
But the servant of the mosque got in the way. Khadem did not like him for some unknown reason. One cannot spend the night in the mosque, Khadem did not agree. Standing in front of the mosque, Khadem said the same thing to the old man in a very loud voice.
A middle-aged man bakes bread in a huge tandoor in a bakery attached to the mosque. Khadem's loud voice reached his ears. Stopping to make bread, the middle-aged man slowly walked over to the old man, who was standing still.
Assalamu Alaikum. Do you understand the traveler? You can spend tonight with me if you don't mind. I make bread in the shop across the street; you might have a little trouble.
The old man was very happy. Went with the bread maker to his room. After organizing the old man's funeral, the man started making bread again. The old man, half-asleep on the bed, was noticing that the man who sheltered him was reading in the middle of his work.
seek forgiveness from Almighty Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
The old man asked, If you don't mind, let me ask you one thing, brother? It sounds like you're reading something while making bread. Please tell me what you are reading.
Nothing much, istighfar astaghfirullah astaghfirullah (seeking forgiveness from Almighty Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala).
You are constantly asking for forgiveness in the middle of work; what has been the benefit for you?
Yes, sir. Alhamdulillah, I think it is because of this Istighfar that Almighty Allah has accepted all my prayers so far, except for one.
didn't accept any of your prayers?
There is a beloved servant of Allah far away from us. He is one of the beloved of Allah Ta'ala in terms of knowledge, dignity, intelligence, and logic.
I would love to meet him once. If only I could spend some time with that wise man. Allah Pak has not only accepted this prayer of mine yet; surely he will accept. I may not be accepted yet because of some sin.
The old man's eyes were heavy with tears. Suppressing tears in his throat, he asked, Are you talking about Ahmad Ibn Hanbal, brother?
Yes, sir. I am talking about Shaykhul Islam, the world-famous Mujtahid and Muhaddith Imam Ahmad bin Muhammad bin Hanbal. May Allah shower his mercy on him.
The old man came up and stood next to him, saying, "By the Holy One, in whose hands is my life! Allah Almighty has not only accepted your Istighfar but also brought me to this distant land, to an unknown city, in the middle of the night—to your house. I am the wretched servant of Almighty Allah—Ahmad Ibn Hanbal!"

Imam Ahmad (RA) is a shining star in the world of Hadith; in one word about his expertise in Hadith, he is a vast ocean of Hadith. Imam Abdul Wahhab Al Warraq said, "I have never seen anyone like Imam Ahmad bin Hanbal. He was asked whether you had more knowledge, dignity, or status among Imam Ahmad (RA) than others. He said, Imam Ahmad is a person who has been asked 60,000 (sixty thousand) questions, and he answered all questions from Haddasana wa Akhabarana, i.e., Hadith, and didn't say anything else. (Tabakatul Hanabilah, p. 1/9).
Istighfar has many virtues
The virtues of Astaghfirullah!
Rasulullah (s.a.w.) said, 'Good news is for him, in whose deeds more Istighfar will be found.'
(Ibn Majah Hadith No. 3808).
Istighfar has many virtues. Namely:
Istighfar is an immaculate act of worship.
means of measuring sin.
the cause of rain.
helpful in acquiring wealth and children.
Stairway to Paradise
means of gaining overall strength It is stated in the Qur'an, 'O my people, ask for forgiveness from your Lord and then repent to Him; then He will send rain on you in torrents and increase your strength with strength. And do not turn away as criminals.' (Surah Hud, verse 52)
The key to achieving better consumer goods It is stated in the Qur'an, 'And ask for forgiveness from your Lord. Then return to Him, and He will provide you with good sustenance until the appointed time.'
(Surah Hud, Verse 3)
eliminates Right And Wrong. It is stated in the Quran that "Allah does not punish them while they ask for forgiveness."
(Surah Anfal, verse 33)
Through Istighfar, Allah increases the reward of obedient people according to their obedience. It is stated in the Qur'an, '(And ask for forgiveness from your Lord. Then return to Him, and then give to the most obedient according to his obedience.'
(Surah Hud, Verse 3).
more tolerant towards person Istighfar. Because day and night we only sin. Therefore, all sins should be forgiven by Allah through Istighfar.
The reason for the revelation of mercy It is stated in the Qur'an, 'Why do you not ask Allah for mercy?'
(Surah Namal, verse 46)
Atonement for all sins of Majlis or gatherings
After all, it is following the Sunnah of the Prophet (PBUH). Because the Prophet (pbuh) recited Istighfar at least seventy times a day,
استغفر الله و اطبوت عليه
Astaghfirullah wa Atubu Ilaihi
May Allah grant us the grace to read Astaghfirullah more and more. Ameen.
